1976, July 28 3:42 am, there is a 7.8 degree of earthquake occurred in China north industrial city : Tang-Shan, there are more than 255 thousand people died and more than 160 thousand people got severe injury. Also 650 thousand houses crashed, it was really happened and made and 15866 families disappeared.
The story described there is truck driver who has an ordinary happy life with boy-girl twins, and he always works away from home and comes back so rarely, some day night in July, the father just return his home and suddenly an earthquake occurred, in order to rescues his children, he was died. And his wife has to choose to save one of boy-girl twins because there is a heavy floor put on both of them, once she choose to save this one, has to give up another one.
The driver’s wife chose her sickly younger son but give up her daughter, after big shock, she raised this son alone and decide to survive strongly. But she never thought that her daughter was adopted by military couple and start a whole new life in some other place . After 32 years, another big earthquake occurred in Sichuan, both of them felt grateful they still live so they decided to help people there then met each other unexpectedly.
In the story this wife always said, once it lost, it was really lost. Because she lost her husband and daughter just because of 23 seconds earthquake but suffering 32 years, everyday she was thinking her life was saved by her husband and insist to stay in the same house to guide their souls home, no matter she has chance to move to bigger house or another better life.
This story is so touching and makes you will cherish what you have, I will recommend everyone have to watch this meaningful and educational movie.
