Everything has two side of one coin though the Lunar New Year was conducted in a cordial atmosphere. Few days ago I saw news that crude oil prices rising, due to the global crude oil prices rising caused the CPC Corporation will adopt an “increase by half” approach to adjusting petroleum prices. The other news, on 11th Feb, state-owned Tai-sugar announced that it’s set to raise prices of sugar and cooking oil by 8 percent because sugar prices have soared 26 percent on the international market. That news are awful but there is a good news is the Ministry of Economic Affairs is not considering and increases in water or electricity rates amid public concerns that such a move could cause an increase in domestic commodity prices.
The President Ma says his administration is closely monitoring commodity prices, especially food and household items. He explained that the government thinks an increase in sugar prices will be closely linked to possible food price hikes. He also said sugar prices are unlikely to increase after the current inventory is used up in three months time. So the government would not allow state-owned Tai-sugar to do so. After that the state-run Tai-Sugar called a halt to the planned price hikes in sugar and soy bean oil but they have not said how long the price freeze will be.
We have right to chose our nation leader. We all know the world economy is in a slump many people are out of work. The people are not strongly request government must have to get it well. Basically, the government must be fully understood people’s needs and react accordingly. Sometimes I really felt that the state-run enterprises must bore social responsibilities. However, the measure would have deep impact on a wide range of businesses, including bakery, soft drinks and other food products manufacturers.
